Studies show the most exciting part of vacation is often planning for, not going on, the trip. As it’s summed up by the Life and Whim blog,
“Research suggests that much of what makes us happy about a vacation takes place both well before, and well after, time spent on the beach in a distant locale. The point is, as I discuss below, a vacation is not merely a moment in time, it’s a series of moments that, in totality, can create happiness well beyond the two to four weeks per year that you spend living out of a suitcase.”
This raises some questions such as, “Are humans wired to enjoy looking towards and planning positive events in our own futures?”
And then, “What would our days and weeks look like if we lived our lives planning for a life in Heaven — arguably the ultimate vacation in a never-ending paradise — like we plan for big vacations?”
